About Me

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
Albert Einstein

Fatih Akbas, Cybersecurity Professional

Solution-oriented aggressive problem-solver dedicated to producing results.

I studied electronics and telecommunication engineering, with a focus on wireless networks, IoT device security, and embedded system programming using assembly programming language. After graduating, I worked as an electronics engineer for a natural gas company for 5 years and then decided to transition into software development. I participated in various projects, including Web API and Desktop Application development. However, I spent most of my time developing APIs that facilitate communication between devices and end-user interfaces for embedded systems. I worked with programming languages such as Java, C, C++, C#, C++/CLI, JavaScript, and PHP during that period.

Cybersecurity has always been my passion, then I started my transition to Cybersecurity in 2021. Fortunately, everything went as expected, and I am now employed in a small-to-mid-scale company as a Cybersecurity Analyst. My primary responsibilities conducting Vulnerability Scans, managing Ransomware Recovery, performing Malware Analysis, executing Automated Penetration Testing, and conducting HIPAA and PCI-DSS assessments for healthcare organizations. I am currently working on my Master’s in Cybersecurity, updating myself on the latest technical skills, cybersecurity trends, and managerial knowledge to excel at leading a cybersecurity team.

My passion for technology and cybersecurity doesn’t stop when I am away from the office. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I find great joy in sharing my knowledge and experiences in secure software development and cybersecurity with young individuals.

I find great fulfillment in spending quality time with my friends. I also enjoy road trips, camping, and playing soccer.
